Handguns are amazingly versatile tools. They can be used for personal defense, competition (both static bullseye and the myriad "action" gun games), tactical operations, target shooting, and hunting. They run the gamet from snub nosed revolvers to fully custom tricked out race autos. They do share an almost entirely universal trait however. Most modern handguns come from their respective factories with triggers ranging from serviceable to down right awful.
At our custom firearms business, Elkhorn Trail Rifles, triggers are more often than not the first (and sometimes only) aspect of handguns we first replace. A high quality aftermarket trigger will often make shooting a handgun turn from chore to pleasure.
There are several aftermarket trigger manufacturers who offer replacement triggers for all of the popular handguns currently on the market. And while most make very nice triggers (by the metric of trigger pull), not all of them offer components which are utterly reliable each and every time the trigger is depressed.
Trigger components MUST work each and every time the trigger is pressed. Malfunctions are unacceptable. In personal defense and tactical settings especially, the components used must be proven, consistent, and entirely reliable. Lives are often at stake.
This is the primary reason we use and sell trigger components from Apex Tactical Specialties. They are brilliantly engineered to the highest levels of reliability and function. And whether you are building the perfect personal defense pistol or assembling a high end competition piece, Apex has something for you.
I can't think of any higher praise than this: I carry an Apex-equipped S&W Shield in my waistband every time I go out in public with my children. And I carry an Apex-equipped S&W M&P on my hip every single moment I spend as a civilian LEO and SWAT cop. I bet my life and the lives of my family, brothers, and public on parts made by Apex. And you can too.
